Write a letter to yourself to close out the year. Recap your personal year as well as the overall year and how you felt at its various points, write about what you meant to do but did not, and write about what you didn’t mean to do but, ultimately, did.
But, resist the urge to write about adding anything new to your life in the year ahead. In fact, if you write about the new year at all, aim to add in what you’re not going to do or what you’re going to stop doing, rather than what thing you might aim to do or add.
