Just as an exercise, write about everything that you did yesterday, but reimagine the events of your day if you were to do the absolute boldest and most truthful thing possible in every situation throughout the day. So, instead of saying “thanks for your feedback” to your coworker, maybe you set off a totally different chain of event by instead saying, “I don’t appreciate unsolicited feedback, Karen. Please ask for my permission before offering it again.” Maybe you also told your boss “no” about a project they were trying to assign to you. Maybe you punched someone who catcalled you. Maybe you dyed your hair green. Who knows? The point of the exercise is to review your day and see what you really, really want to do. And, maybe in the process, you might see where you are aching to go bolder.
