Today, write to name a feeling of grief, fresh or long-lingering. Grief, of course, can come from the places we all know and recognize like the loss of a person or beloved pet, but also from sometimes less clear places of loss, like the loss of an identity or a dream, a childhood you didn’t have, or even a change you chose like leaving a city or community that wasn’t meeting your needs.
