Helping others
We could literally all write a story about the same thing and they are all valid stories
All November, we’re focusing on non-fiction writing prompts per usual but through the frame of also taking a good, long look at your writing life and overall creative career things you want to do.
Today write into this: How are people excluded from your creative discipline? How have you been excluded from it at any point? What have you done/are you doing to include people in the field? Why is it important to you to do that?
If you aren’t doing anything like that and don’t want to, perhaps interrogate that in your writing, too. Why don’t you want to help others? Do you feel competitive? Do you feel that helping others takes opportunities away from you? Nobody will read this writing unless you want them to, so practice radical honesty with yourself on this. Hell, destroy the writing when you’ve finished if that helps. But, get it written. Get it clear.
