Today, write about the idea of holding space and acceptance for your own vulnerability and wounds. But rather than taking that to mean “drag all your stuff out in the light and write about it then put it back away,” consider this: we tend to hold onto a cultural belief that we need to heal everything about ourselves to some imagined perfection before we can… do whatever it is we think comes next. To which I say two things: first, how healed is healed enough, in your mind? And, what if we didn’t actually have to heal completely or heal any more than we already have in order to deserve peace and wins and ease and joy and love and whatever else? What if we’re all already absolutely enough? Instead of attacking the idea of vulnerability as a thing that needs repair or time, I invite you to consider the idea that you’re enough, and that mayyyybe the stuff about which we feel vulnerable is actually somehow special and powerful. Hold space and acceptance in that way and see what happens.
It’s lofty and heady, but give it a try and see where you land today. Let’s go.
