Today, write into and around this idea: What’s the difference between being honest and being legible?
There are many types of honesty. There’s absolute, complete disclosure of every last damned detail in a way that risks oversharing all the way to sharing just enough information to be technically disclosing enough but also still sort of managing the information in a need-to-know kind of way, and lots of modes of honesty in between. And, really, neither of those two extremes are necessarily legible.
Write today into the idea of being honest in a way that is legible. That might have professional implications, personal ones, that might challenge family communication dynamics, that might make you realize you manage information because it never felt safe to share as a child.
Whatever comes up, let it be there. The important part is to avoid censoring yourself too much in this activity, and just let the writing happen.
