I started a conversation on the social mediaz this week (that led to a blog post) about how ridiculous some people can get when interacting with multi-hyphenate creative people, like there’s this unspoken expectation that eventually one will pick one thing and just be that one thing. Ugh, that sounds boring as hell.
But, worse, it ignores the reality for many creative folks that creativity expressed in one way often feeds it in other ways. Why in the holy hell would it be reasonable by any stretch to curb any part of that?
Today, write about what creative practices (or just regular practices) feed your writing practice most.
Let’s write.
This week only, my project to help creative people (including multi-hyphenates!) build compounding visibility in their creative work, The Seen AF Method, is 25% off. With the Introductory price going up in January, that means this is the lowest price it’ll ever be.
But, let’s be clear, this isn’t a PR/media strategy how-to. Plenty of folks can and will try to teach you some basic PR tactics or how to use social media more effectively.
In The Seen AF Method, we go deep to connect w your clear and cohesive deeper purpose, the creative wounds standing in the way, and completely reframe narratives about how you believe is okay for you to be seen. There’s some PR and a little social media but the bulk of the work here is deep work, deep creative purpose-driven work that then we shape into a custom-for-you framework for you to use to continue to promote your work, and let your work promote itself. That’s about feeling safe being seen doing your creative work. That’s about reframing dominant narratives about art and deservedness. That’s about healing old creative wounds and unhelpful beliefs about your work. That’s deep work.
To build a deep and rich framework for yourself and your creativity is different. You’re a smart person; you can google and sort out plenty of generic tips to promote your work and maybe even get a little traction that way but to be willing to go deep to get clarity on your real creative blocks and underlying beliefs and build a framework to turn your creative efforts into a self-sustaining flywheel? That’s deeper and different work and it’s game changing.
Enroll before October 6th for 25% off and a whole mess of bonus content. There’s the option with group calls and community space online, but there’s also a 1:1 option if you’d rather jsut get on a zoom with me every week and build together that way.
Learn more about the whole thing here, and/or book a chat with me about it here to see if it’s a good fit for the era you’re in right now. Because for as sure as I am that I can help just about any person doing creative work start doing it at a much larger scale and feel really good about that, if it’s not a great fit for you right now, I don’t want you to do it.
But, if it sounds like it might be your vibe, let’s do this.
