Today, as a starting point, write about something you enjoy doing that some might consider old fashioned, for better or worse.
As with all of these prompts, you don’t have to write literally about that very thing, but merely use it as a place to start your thinking and your writing.
For example, I’m all in on Team Fountain Pen, and feel like writing with a great pen reminds my brain that what I’m writing matters. So perhaps today I might write about how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle reportedly loved the Parker Duofold pen, or even about Doyle himself, or maybe I might put “fountain pen” into Google News and learn about how the latest fountain pen ink market report was just released, or figure out who invented one tiny part that changed how pens work, or maybe I write something about just simply ink. You get the idea. We don’t have to be literal; we’re creative beings and an idea is just the place where we step into the pool, not the pool itself.
Let’s dive into that.
