All November, we’re focusing on non-fiction writing prompts per usual but through the frame of also taking a good, long look at your writing life and overall creative career things you want to do.
Today, think about when you release creative work out into the world. Podcast episodes, blog posts, published articles/essays, books, art, music, films, whatever. Free write a bit about what you normally do/previously have done to prepare to release work, and what you do to share it with others once it’s live. What result has it given you? What result would you like from your efforts instead? What do you to do after the initial flurry? What part of all of it do you enjoy (be specific)? What part do you not love? Why? What feelings come up with promoting your work? They’re all valid. Let’s name all of it and interrogate the crap out of it and see where we land.
And, before you get started, a reminder: you deserve to put your creative work out in the world and take up space. Honestly, that’s the bare fucking minimum you deserve.
