After you’ve written, and are feeling like you’ve made some good edits, do one more thing: read your work aloud. This act seems like a small thing, but taking the time to do this one thing can help you discover and address issues in your writing that won’t necessarily surface when reading it silently in your head. You’ll also uncover places that need one more syllable, or one less, and inspiration will reveal itself to help your writing flow more lyrically and smoothly.
