Screw it, let's time travel

(not as sci-fi as it sounds)

A (potentially) light prompt today, though it could involve a good bit of research if you want it to. Think about where you are right now. Who lived there before you?

Granted, this could be specifically about your house or apartment or about your neighborhood, your city, a community you identify with and so on. Decide what this means to you and write it out, and see if you can have the piece move out of memoir-mode and into narrative that serves and entertains (maybe even educates) the reader.
