Seems normal but not to you

Today, write about something that is widely accepted as perfectly normal but that you think is completely bizarre. If it helps, start by making a list of those things, then pick one to write about today, and save the other list items to your main ideas file for another time.
This idea has been brought to you by a storage unit ad I saw for long-term space rental that made me think, gah why do we have so much crap that we need to rent extra space to put all of our crap? And why is it totally normal for an ad to assume our homes are so overflowing with stuff that the cultural norm is not to, say, deal with that stuff and what is causing it but instead just go get more space for our crap? Hard no from me on that.
