What is the smallest town you’ve ever visited? What did you do while there? How do you feel about the place? Let’s write.
I’ve been to plenty of small towns because I like traveling back-roads and seeing what I see, but today I will write about either the time I stopped off in Bessemer, Alabama on a road trip and ended up finding Hitler’s typewriter in a museum. Or, I’ll write about the time I got very, very lost in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma/Maria and ended up eating posole in a kitchen with little old ladies who fussed at me for not squeezing enough lime over my bowl.
The trick is, the place is the backdrop to tiny details you remember and what they mean to you.
