Things you dare not write
Screw it! Write it! (You can decide about ever publishing it later)
What’s something you’ve never dared to write about, even privately? What’s driving that hesitation? Protection? Fear of seeming petty or soft or unhinged? Fear you can’t handle the material? Write around the edges of it today. What would happen if you did write about one of your forbidden or off-limits topics?
One way to handle this on the regular is to keep a “burn pile” document on which you write such things and where you jot ideas for things you aren’t sure you’re brave/batshit/bold/smart/whatever enough to write. Because here’s the thing: you don’t have to publish shit. You do not have to publish what you write there, but you might very well need to to write it. Honestly, writing the terrifying thing might change your damn life to have written it.
