While traveling recently, I had the opportunity to visit the exact spot where, about twenty years prior, I was injured in a car crash after getting hit by a truck. It was my first time back to the spot since the ambulance took me away from it, and it was both a completely ordinary spot in an intersection on a busy slope of a street between a cemetery and a supermarket, and a spot where things could have certainly gone far worse for me yet still ended up altering the course of things for me in many ways for many years.
