Here’s another way to always have something to write about: ask yourself what three things happen just about every day in this era of your life? Pick one and start to mind-map a bit around these things, going as small or as wild with this as you want because this can yield articles about coffee culture and crossword puzzles, essays about tamping down anxiety by journaling or working out, how to guide for long-distance relationships inspired by texting your partner good morning, an ode to a beloved pet who wakes you at 7 a.m. ready to play with a squeaky toy and so on and that’s just from perhaps the first hour that you’re awake.
Whatever three things stand out to you about this era of your life, start unpacking them and listing all the things you can pull from them as places to write into. And, best of all, these three things are probably very likely to shift every few weeks or months so it kind of becomes an endless supply of ideas in a very simple and straightforward way. Let’s write.
