And especially the ties that teach
Describe a relationship (professional, platonic, familial, whatever) that shaped your understanding of power. Maybe you observed your parents equally balancing their own share of domestic labor and professional effort, or maybe a relationship taught you about power by helping you very clearly see a boundary. Or, maybe your boss was just an exploitative asshole, which is a thing that happens a lot, too.
Whatever the case, make a list of power dynamics in your life at various points if you like and pick one to start with today. (Be sure to save the others to your main ideas file so you can write about the others another time.) Let’s go.
