Write about an experience that risks making you look really, really bad. Harder than it sounds, isn’t it? Keep working on it until you’re pretty satisfied that you haven’t explained yourself into looking like a well-meaning hero for whom it just didn’t pan out, but that you actually could and probably do look really bad in the writing.
